I’ve been using Last.fm for a couple years now, and I basically love it.
I just wish the recommendation engine was a little better. It seems, for the most part, they just look at your top few favorite artists and sling some 3rd generation rip-offs of those artists back to you assuming you’ll love them just as much.
Not really.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m all about the Last.fm. I LOVE to “love” tracks. Over time, Last.fm compiles a database for you to listen to later as a radio station. It’s seriously like listening to a radio show of music that you adore.
Also, if it weren’t for Last.fm, I wouldn’t have found out that Maxwell was coming to my town in a few weeks. That’s pretty badass.
I just got 4 new CDs - Lindsey Buckingham’s ‘Gift Of Screws’, Raphael Saadiq’s ‘The Way I See It’, AFX’s ‘Chosen Lords’ and a Nina Simone double-disc best-of.
